Overseas honeymoon destinations (right on our doorstep)
If you are craving an overseas adventure but don't want to venture too far then these places are what you are looking for.
Bali
A quick 6 hour flight will get you to Bali. It is beautiful and luxurious and best of all cheap! If you want your own private villa with a plunge pool and butler you can have it and at a fraction of the price you will pay for it anywhere else. Some of the popular locations to stay are Seminyak, Ubud and Uluwatu. The Gili islands just off Lombok are stunning and secluded for perfect for a romantic honeymoon.
Fiji
Just a 4 hour flight from Sydney and you will land in the beautiful Fiji. Holiday packages to Fiji are fairly affordable and the choice of resorts is great. Fiji is a gorgeous realxing island with plenty to see and do or you could spend the whole time relaxing on the beach or by the pool. A day trip out so some of the islands is a must do.
New Zealand
New Zealand is only 3 hours away. A personal favourite of mine as this is where my husband and I went on our honeymoon. We travelled around the south island and it is utterly breathtaking. Lush green fields, snow capped mountains, serene lakes and rivers. Hire a car or a motorhome and take your time to explore this picturesque place it is well worth it. Some of the highlights for us were Queesntown, Fox Glacier, Franz Josef, Wanaka, Twizel, Milfrod and Doubtful Sound.
Vanautu
Again just a 3 hour flight from Australia. Vanautu has the best of both worlds a relaxing island holiday and the opportunity for adventure and exploring. Water sports, volcanoes, health spas and scuba diving.
New Caledonia
Just under 5 hours and you will find yourself in the gorgeous New Caledonia. A little slice of 'France' dropped in the Pacific. You can enjoy all the decedant French food on your stunning island holiday. New Caledonia is a little bit pricey but well worth it.
